Prologue
The brown tabby loner ran through the forest, she was bleeding from the flank, she was carrying a small black kit. The tabby yowled in pain as she slowed down, she was attacked by badger, trying to get her kit. The tabby sat on a rock, she knew she was dying, she lay down, and put her screaming kit down next to her to nurse for one last time. The tabby died. The kit was left screaming. Her screams attracted Sunflower, a nursing queen who was hunting, Sunflower looked at the dead tabby to the mewling kit. Her eyes widened in symapathy. Sunflower picked up the kit and carried it to see Miraclestar.
Sunflower walked into Miraclestar's den, she was carrying a black kit. She informed " I've found this kit, it's mother is dead, from what looks like a badger bite." Miraclestar closed his eyes in saddness. The great tom meowed " Will you nurse the kit? It looks to be only 3 weeks old." Sunflower nodded. Miraclestar continued " This kit shall be called Moonkit until it has received it's apprentice name" Sunflower nodded her thanks as she padded off to the nursery.
